Sound too good to be true? Anthem offers these benefits to our members through Indiana’s Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP) Plus program. You only pay a small amount, as low as $1 per month, based on your income. If you don’t want to make a monthly payment, there is another option called HIP Basic available to some members.

Copayment and contribution collections are currently stopped

Due to COVID-19, the state has stopped the collection of POWER Account contributions for HIP members. You will not receive POWER Account statements or invoices at this time. Additionally, copayments will not be required for any service. We will notify you when you need to make copayments again.

HIP Plus vs. HIP Basic

HIP Plus offers the best value — no copays, plus dental, vision, chiropractic care and extra pharmacy benefits!

HIP Basic has no monthly payment, but you will have to pay copays for services, like doctor visits and prescriptions. Dental, vision, and chiropractic care are not included.

HIP Plus

For a small monthly payment, you get:

HIP Basic

With no monthly payment, you get:
	$75	Hospital stays
	$4	Doctor visits

	No	Dental care
	No	Vision care
	No	Chiropractic care

How much does HIP Plus cost?
Monthly payments are between $1 and $20. These amounts can be higher if you are a tobacco user.

What happens next?

After you are approved by FSSA, you’ll get a welcome packet and an invoice to make your first monthly payment. Be sure to make your payment on time to enroll in HIP Plus. We’ll let you know when you can start using your benefits.

What happens if you don’t make your first payment?

If you qualify for HIP Basic, you’ll be enrolled in that program. You’ll have to pay copays for your health care services and you won’t be able to join HIP Plus for a year.
If your income is too high to qualify for HIP Basic, you will not be enrolled in any health coverage and will have to reapply.
