Affordability
Plans that help your bottom line
Our size and strength make it easier for us to negotiate deep discounts and collaborate with care providers. The result is lower costs and better health for your employees while you save on premiums.
Our flexible plan designs help you meet the needs of your business and your employees. In addition to Affordable Care Act (ACA) plans, you can choose from these alternative funding plans:
- Anthem Balanced Funding (ABF)
Our ABF plans offer financial security with a fixed monthly payment and potential savings for lower claims.
- Multiple employer welfare arrangement (MEWA)
With two MEWA plans to choose from — the Ohio Farm Bureau Health Benefits Plan or the SOCA Benefit Plan — your small business becomes part of a large, self-funded group. Because the plans are backed by the financial protection of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield’s stop loss coverage, you’ll be protected from unexpected large claims.
Experience
Tools for seamless administration
Our plans include tools that make it easier for you to administer your benefits and for your employees to manage their health and their benefits.
- You’ll find everything you need at EmployerAccess. With just one place to go, you can manage enrollments, view and update employee information, handle billing, and access the latest news and resources.
- Your employees can view their benefits, look up claims, access well-being tools, and visit a doctor or licensed therapist from anywhere using our award-winning SydneySM Health app or at anthem.com.3,4

Simplicity
Easier access to care across the state
We’re building strong partnerships with local health systems and community organizations that support your employees’ whole-person health. We’re invested in making our state healthier for everyone.
- Offering one of the state’s largest networks, with 93% of doctors and 100% of hospitals in Ohio.1
- Including a variety of network options that provide broad coverage and targeted solutions that help reduce costs.

2 Elevance Health Foundation 2023 year-end giving.
3 Appointments are subject to the availability of a therapist.
4 Online counseling is not appropriate for all kinds of problems. If someone is in crisis or having suicidal thoughts, it’s important that they seek help immediately. They can text, chat, or call 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline), or 911 for help. If it’s an emergency, they should call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. LiveHealth Online does not offer emergency services.
Sydney Health is offered through an arrangement with Carelon Digital Platforms, a separate company offering mobile application services on behalf of your health plan.
